Jason Jones is a partner in Wick Phillips’ Real Estate section with over a decade of legal experience in representing clients in retail, office, medical, technology, industrial, and other commercial real estate sectors. His practice is primarily focused on assisting clients with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, construction, financing, and land development matters within these areas. He recently assisted several clients in acquiring ownership, development and managing rights for state-of-the-art, high-tech data centers in both Texas and Georgia.

Jason also represents recording artists, songwriters and musicians in the areas of music, copyright and entertainment law. He began his legal career as an intern with a high-profile music law firm in Beverly Hills, and has since brought his practice back home to Texas. Whether it’s forming a band member agreement or negotiating a record or publishing deal, Jason represents and advises songwriters and musicians in navigating their legal rights in a complex industry that’s constantly evolving. He recently represented several songwriters in negotiating co-publishing agreements with a major worldwide music publisher.

Prior to joining the firm, Jason practiced in the oil and gas industry at FTS International as Associate General Counsel and Director of Real Estate for many years, where he managed over 700,000 square feet of leased property, and over 5,000 acres of commercial/industrial property. During law school, he also studied international business transactions, European Union law, and comparative Spanish law at La Universitat de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Jason is a licensed real estate agent in Texas, and owns and manages several commercial investment properties of his own.
