Dallas, Texas, March 1, 2018 – Kristin Jordan Harkins, an intellectual property (IP) veteran with 25 years of experience, has joined Wick Phillips. “Kristin, along with her team, has an excellent and established reputation in representing clients in all aspects of IP law,” says David Drez, managing partner of Wick Phillips. “She will strengthen our IP practice and allow us to expand service offerings to our clients.”

Kristin specializes in the development and maintenance of worldwide patent and trademark portfolios and oversight of patent and trademark application preparation and procurement. Her experience includes patent and trademark clearance opinions and client counseling to identify, develop and maintain IP portfolios and representation of clients to resolve IP disputes. Kristin’s skills also include business transactions such as licensing and technology transfers, merger and acquisition due diligence, business resolutions of intellectual property law issues and development of in-house IP policies and procedures, including patent review committees and trademark use and style guides. She represents clients in trademark infringement litigation, trademark proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and ICANN domain name recovery proceedings. Kristin’s technical experience includes mechanical, chemical, computer software and business methods technologies.

Kristin’s team includes senior IP counsel Clint Stuart, technical advisor Taylor Westbrook and four professional staff members. Clint is a registered patent attorney and specializes in patent preparation, prosecution, advice, and opinions in a wide variety of technical fields. Taylor specializes in patent application preparation, technical art evaluation and patentability analysis with technical experience in the mechanical and chemical arts.

Prior to joining Wick Phillips, Kristin was a shareholder with Conley Rose, P.C. and founder of the firm’s Dallas office. Before becoming an attorney, Kristin was a production and reservoir engineer responsible for multiple oil and gas fields in East Texas and the Panhandle for Exxon Company, U.S.A.
