Wick Phillips Gould & Martin, LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, announces that the firm secured summary judgment in favor of its clients, ending a $7.5 million employment dispute. The summary judgment dismissed the plaintiff's lawsuit and denied the validity of all claims asserted.

Following termination of his employment, the plaintiff sued for wrongful termination, seeking $7.5 million in damages and alleging nine separate causes of action ranging from breach of contract, to fraud and defamation, among others. The Wick Phillips team successfully proved that none of the plaintiff's numerous claims had merit and that the firm's clients were entitled to summary judgment as a matter of law.

None of his claims were supported by evidence or the law. We presented a well-organized case that methodically demonstrated the plaintiff's case had no legal merit. According to Marcia Nelson Jackson, a Wick Phillips partner and co-counsel for the defense, "It is somewhat rare for a state court judge to issue a ruling on a summary judgment that results in the complete dismissal of a plaintiff's case. However, in this instance, the plaintiff's lack of evidence was overwhelming, which ultimately invalidated all of his assertions. But even without evidence of wrongdoing, the employer still endured over a years' worth of litigation.
