William Matthews is an associate in the corporate section of Wick Phillips and focuses on mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, private equity and general business matters.
Prior to joining Wick Phillips, Will gained a variety of experience as an associate at McDowell Hetherington and as a law clerk of a boutique law firm. During law school, Will was general counsel intern at an Inc. 500 healthcare company, legal extern for a major Dallas-based hedge fund, a tax research assistant, a judicial intern for the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant III in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and a judicial intern for the Honorable Jeffrey Rosenfield in the Dallas County Court of Criminal Appeals #2. Will has also provided pro bono legal representation to the SMU Tax Clinic and volunteered for the Foundation Communities tax preparation program.
Prior to law school, Will created a startup film production company in Austin, Texas. Will enjoys running, traveling, live music, and playing guitar.
