Chris Baker works with public and private clients on corporate and finance matters, including SEC disclosures, asset and equity purchase agreements, ancillary agreements, commercial loan agreements, corporate governance, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions and bank financing.

Chris returns to Wick Phillips after serving as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Defender Outdoors, LLC where he advised on corporate governance, capital structure, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and the negotiation of real estate leases and commercial contracts. In his role as Chief Operating Officer for the company, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company, including the construction and operation of an indoor shooting sports facility, the development and launch of an e-commerce website, branding and marketing, and the management of over 40 employees.

Prior to entering law school, Chris enjoyed a career in construction and logistics sales and developed expertise in several industries, including electrical and gas utilities, telecommunications, road and highway construction, heavy equipment, manufacturing, trucking and railroads.

While in law school, Chris focused his studies on corporate affairs and the development and financing of energy and technology related projects. He also participated in an Innovation Advancement Clinic, where he provided legal and business consulting services to emerging companies.
